Republican Senate Majority Leader John Thune joined the lie-filled Trump administration and told Fox News Sean Hannity that, as a result of Republican policies, Americans have "more money in their pockets."
This is a bald-faced lie, and the country knows it.
Sean Hannity is fretting over the horrible poll numbers on Trump and the GOP, and the prediction markets like Kalshi and Polymarket show a clean sweep for Democrats in the 2026 midterms.
Hannity is claiming Republicans have a messaging problem and are failing to explain how awesome they are, even though conservatives control online social and media outlets, cable and network streaming as well.
"You know, I see that there's a whole story that really hasn't been told," Hannity said. "Are you dealing with your candidates and getting them on the right page, on the right message, so that they're explaining that, which I know the legacy media will never explain?"
See, it's NBC's fault that Republicans are failing, not illegal tariffs.
Sen. Thune said the media won't do it for you, but they do for Republicans. He tried to define the Democratic Party as wanting higher taxes and bigger government.
"And in our candidates, you look at this is the most secure border we've ever had, and you look at the American people have more money in their pockets as a result of Republican policies," Thune said. "This country, thanks to Republican leadership, President Trump working with Republican Congress, is set up for success."
The problem with the Republican fantasies describing their supposed successes on the economy is that people know how much money they have in their pockets, their wallets, and their bank accounts.
People know how much fuel, groceries, rent, mortgages, and all-around services cost because they live in reality.
Republican tax cuts act as an entitlement program for the very wealthy. In Trump's economy, the wealthy make out while millions of people in the working class are kicked off their healthcare and SNAP programs, while being forced to live on credit cards to pay for affluent welfare.
Thune didn't mention the Iran war because the country hates it with only a 34% approval rating of likely voters and as Time reports, Republican lawmakers are finally breaking from Trump on the war..
Republicans have no message to run except to smear their rivals as anti-American haters who want to destroy the country.
Unfortunately for Thune, the public clearly sees it's Trump and the GOP that are devastating the country.
