Donald Trump seems rather annoyed that people are questioning his needless, unpopular, and costly war against Iran. On Friday, he downplayed the seemingly endless war and its costs as “small potatoes for us” and “not a big thing.”
“We did Venezuela, and we did this in Venezuela,” Trump continued. “We lost nobody, and this we lost 18 people. And in Vietnam, you lost 100,000 people, and in other conflicts, you lost tens of thousands of people.”
It seems odd, or maybe telling, that President Draft Dodger would compare his latest war, which people are already calling a “quagmire,” to the quagmire he dodged in Vietnam.
Maybe the Iran war is no biggie for a guy who has used his 19 months in the White House to enrich himself and his family by billions – and whose military-age son still shows no sign of enlisting. But it’s a hell of a biggie for those of us non-billionaires struggling with the soaring costs of gasoline thanks to the war he predicted would end in 4-6 weeks. Instead, the war he has repeatedly claimed to have already won is now in its seventh month.
It’s a huge thing for the military and their families suffering under the horrific mismanagement of Trump’s Defense Secretary, Whiskey Pete Hegseth, who can’t even do his job without his mommywife.
Worse yet, are the deaths of 18 American soldiers. But Trump has belittled them before, too.
You can bet that “pro-life” Trump will be A-OK with more deaths. President Draft Dodger has previously called soldiers who have given their lives for their country “suckers” and “losers.” I would not be surprised if he has already said that in private to Natalie about our most recent heroes.
