During an interview with Fox News host Laura Ingram, Trump claimed he probably didn't need congressional approval to hand out $5,000 checks to Americans as a bribe and lied, saying he'd taken in $21 trillion from tariffs, which would pay for it.
When Ingraham brought up his $5K dividend payoff, she mentioned the $40 trillion deficit and asked why he doesn't give the money now.
If he did that now, it would undermine his bribery scheme.
"But they're saying you're buying the election," Ingraham admitted. " You want to buy the election."
"Why not just give the money now?" Ingraham continued. "If you have the money, why not give it now?"
"Because they can't, I'll tell you what," Trump said. "Because the Democrats can't do it."
What? What does that mean?
"Because with them, it's negative growth, he continued. "With us, it's so positive."
WTF? His answers are unintelligible.
TRUMP: So we're taking in 21 trillion dollars.
Nobody, no country's ever taken in anywhere near that.
It's four, five times higher than the next.
All because of that beautiful word that you and I love more than most others.
Tariffs.
Trump then mumbled about how much Ingraham loves tariffs, even though his personal Supreme Court deemed them illegal.
Trump is lying through his teeth when it comes to trillions of dollars and tariffs.
CNBC reports, "Trump added that his tariff policies enabled the dividend plan, claiming they have helped bring $21 trillion in U.S. investment. That figure, and similarly huge numbers that Trump has claimed represent total investment in the U.S. during his presidency, have been repeatedly fact-checked as false."
Penn Wharton reports that " between January 2025 and July 2026, the Trump administration's new trade policies brought in $298.5 billion in gross tariff revenue "
Trump's tariffs were a blight and a tax on US consumers, and they added to his skyrocketing inflation.
Next week, I wouldn't be surprised if Trump said he's taken in the $40 trillion to pay off the federal debt.
