Suarez weren't together for a terribly long time. Releasing their debut album in 1994 and getting some attention via MTV Latin America shortly after. Doing a tour of Chile and Argentina in 1995 and releasing a grand total of 4 albums before disbanding around 1999.
Fronted by the remarkable voice of Rosario Blefari, who is actively in the middle of a solo career and gaining a lot more international recognition, Suarez were one of those handful of bands that, had there been the Internet that we know today back in the early 90's, would have surely gotten a lot more much-deserved attention throughout the rest of the world.
As it stands now they are getting a healthy word of mouth going in Europe. Albeit after the fact, but still - a very talented and adventuresome experimental unit gives further proof the world of music is vast and often undiscovered.
Tonight's track is off that debut album, Hora De No Ver which was released in 1994 and still available along with a box set of all four of their albums. Sonido Cotopaxi gives you some idea of what you've been missing all this time. Perfect for the weekend.
