As President Donald Trump desperately tries to convince the American people that his war of choice with Iran will conveniently, finally come to an end right after the midterm elections -- as the Republican Party faces the prospect of a brutally humiliating loss in both branches of Congress -- his top advisors in the White House are panicked and secretly warning him that this war is highly likely to last throughout his entire presidential term.

On Wednesday, Trump told reporters that he expects his war to end "immediately after the election," because "they can't hold out any longer." He claimed that Iran is "desperate to try to affect the election."

The president has been predicting an imminent end to his war since the moment he started it back in February, claiming from the beginning that the conflict would be wrapped up in a matter of weeks. Since then, he has declared the war "almost over" upwards of 40 times and gone so far as to claim that it was actually over and "we won" dozens of times.

Meanwhile, Americans are being crushed under the consequences of Trump's actions, as the repeated closure of the Strait of Hormuz has sent gas prices and overall inflation skyrocketing. At the same time, the president calls the concept of affordability a "Democratic hoax."

And while he tries to claim that the end is in sight now, his own people are saying the exact opposite behind closed doors.

According to inside officials who spoke with the Wall Street Journal, both Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have privately warned that Tehran is positioned to hold out against US military attacks and steep sanctions until Trump's second presidential term comes to an end... In 2029.

Sources say Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has echoed similar sentiment, quietly ordering even more troops into the Middle East over the past several weeks and telling military forces, including air-defense units, to prepare to stay there well into 2027 and beyond.

Regardless of what Trump tells a gaggle of reporters standing on a tarmac, there is no end in sight for this war of his, and his own people know it.
