After a third failed vote to continue debate in the financial reform bill, it appears the Democrats are prepared to make the Republicans actually filibuster the bill.

Mitchell: It now looks like a daily vote on this.

McCaskill: I think we're gonna go all night. I think we've made the decision that this is important enough that we're going to stay up through the night and ask continually the Republicans to allow us to debate this bill out in open and in front of the public. We need transparency on Wall Street. We ought to start right here in Washington.

Mitchell: So we're talking about an old fashioned cloture and filibuster routine?

McCaskill: We're talking about staying all night and continually asking our colleagues across the aisle to allow us to debate this bill.

Pass the popcorn. It might be a very interesting long night on the Senate floor. It's about time the Democrats are making the Republicans have to hold an actual filibuster if they want to block legislation.
