US Army SFC William K Lacey, 38, Laurel Hill, FL

According to iCasualties, the total number of allied service members dead in Afghanistan is now 3,414.

In addition, the following notable names lost their lives this week:

Diplomat Thomas Patrick Melady, 86
Actor Larry D Mann, 91
Media mogul Sir Run Run Shaw, 106
Newspaper publisher Richard Inskeep, 89
Politician Vicente T Blaz, 85
Reagan Acting WH Press Secretary Larry Speakes, 74
Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon, 85
