Jeb Bush may be running for president. Ted Cruz and Rand Paul and fellow Floridian Marco Rubio are not amused. Meanwhile, Romney? Woot! The GOP Civil War is back! Pop some corn, and enjoy the show.
The unifying Obama hatred is still there, of course, and there will be vicious efforts to vilify Hillary, but let's shift direction today and span out across the globe. Because surely there's more to the news than saliva-inducing 2016 presidential politics. Here are a few things:
Tim Duy's Fed Watch: With energy prices falling, Russia is a classic emerging market crisis story.
Emptywheel: The Pakistani Taliban commits an atrocity that may just unify that fractured country. (Once more, religious extremism continues to be the most powerful argument against itself.)
Occasional Planet: Defeating Netanyahu in March's elections is the key to a better Israel and Palestine. (A win for the left certainly looks possible, but there are problems with the proposed Labour-Hatnuah deal to rotate the premiership.)
