Maria Goldstein walked into a Schaumburg, Illinois Office Depot wanting 500 copies of her anti-Planned Parenthood flyer. But she ran into an unexpected roadblock. Office Depot has a policy that it will not

“copy any type of material that advocates any form of racial or religious discrimination or the persecution of certain groups of people. It also prohibits copying any type of copyrighted material.”

Surprisingly, they saw this flyer as the piece of proselytizing propaganda that it really is, and politely declined. They offered her a self-serve copier where she could make the 500 copies of her prayer to convert Planned Parenthood herself. She was obviously miffed at the 'religious persecution.' She thinks it's just a prayer, and who could it possibly harm?

It could actually do considerable harm to the poor women who are affected when Planned Parenthood is unjustly targeted for eradication.

The handout, published by The Daily Caller, included statistics about abortion in the U.S. and at Planned Parenthood. Ms. Goldstein said the intention of the prayer (see below), composed by the Rev. Frank Pavone, national director of Priests for Life, is to ask for conversion.

“The conversion of the staff, employees, everybody who is part of this at Planned Parenthood. It means they will recognize life has dignity and that it is valuable and not a commodity to be bought and sold,” she told the Tribune.

Mrs. Goldstein wanted to allegedly hand out the flyers at church on Sunday. She has, of course, retained an attorney, one from the Thomas More Society, which takes up for causes relating to that rampant problem of Christian persecution. Goldstein's lawyer

...has given Office Depot five business days to agree to print the flier. If the flier is not printed, the law firm will take the matter to the Cook County Human Rights Commission and the Illinois Department of Human Rights.

Thomas Olp, a lawyer for the firm, likened Goldstein’s situation to the type of discrimination that took place when businesses refused to serve African-Americans and Jews.

In case this sort of hyperbole sounds eerily familiar, this is just another example of defending the rights of those who want to take rights and opportunities away from other people. I think we found the next media circus appearance for Mike Huckabee, or, perhaps Ted Cruz.

In case you had any doubts if the prayer she was wanting to copy had a tone of persecution, just take a look. *emphasis mine

Lord, for whom all things are possible,
We are confronted once again today
With the evil of the abortion industry
And the corruption found
In the world’s largest abortion business, Planned Parenthood.

Lord, we pray for all who plan to be parents,
And we ask your mercy on those
Who teach others to reject parenthood.
In the light of your Word, Lord,
We affirm today that children are a blessing from you,
And that the origin of all parenthood
Is likewise in You, the God of life and love.

Therefore, Oh God,
We stand against the evil that has been exposed
In Planned Parenthood
And in the entire abortion industry.
We stand today for the triumph
Of truth over falsehood,
Of light over darkness,
And of life over death.

Bring an end to the killing of children in the womb,
And bring an end to the sale of their body parts.
Bring conversion to all who do this,
And enlightenment to all who advocate it.
Close the doors of the death camps in our midst,
And open the doors of your mercy and healing!
Close the grisly trade in baby body parts,
And open the abundant gifts of your salvation and life!
Hasten the day when our land
Will no longer be stained with innocent blood,
And when the bodies of all your children
Will be raised from the dead
And set free forever.
We pray in the name of Jesus the Lord. Amen!

–Rev. Frank Pavone, National Director, Priests for Life
