BREAKING: New York Attorney General Shuts Down Trump Foundation

The Trump Foundation has been under investigation by the NY Attorney General, Eric Schneiderman since information surfaced in early September about his foundation's improprieties. Schneiderman said at the time that

'We have been looking into the Trump Foundation to make sure it’s complying with the laws governing charities in New York.'

Well, it looks like the Trump Foundation was not following the law, so much so that the NY AG's Office issued an order for the foundation to stop fundraising.

David Fahrenthold of The Washington Post certainly laid the groundwork for today's action, and it appears that the floodgates have opened. Maybe this will reveal that 'magic bullet' that will end the ambitions of a maniacal megalomaniac, who takes the idea of the Gish Gallop to new depths? Who can say?

NBC reports:

Schneiderman's office on Monday ordered the Donald J. Trump Foundation to "immediately cease soliciting contributions" after a report that the charity lacked the proper authorization to seek public donations.

"The Attorney General's office is the sole regulator of charities in New York State, and when evidence of clear misconduct is brought to our attention, we take action," a spokesman for the attorney general's office said in a statement.

The "Notice of Violation" letter obtained by NBC News warned that the charity "shall be deemed a continuing fraud upon the people of New York" unless it provided required paperwork regarding its fundraising activities within the next 15 days.

Naturally, Trump's campaign will blame this entire investigation on politics, as no one in the campaign has ever admitted wrongdoing. Trump is no fan of the Democratic AG, who has endorsed Hillary Clinton.

"While we remain very concerned about the political motives behind AG Schneiderman's investigation, the Trump Foundation nevertheless intends to cooperate fully with the investigation," Trump campaign spokeswoman Hope Hicks said in a statement on Monday. "Because this is an ongoing legal matter, the Trump Foundation will not comment further at this time."

It's hard to keep track of all the campaign-ending faux pas revealed each day. Yet, is there still a chance that this man could win? You betcha.

Hillary is viewed unpropitiously by the media and has been for over three decades, so there's that mountain to climb. The poorly educated die-hard Trump supporters, a.k.a. the basket of deplorables will never believe facts or evidence. Any transgressions Donald and his band of merry criminals have committed are irrelevant to these motivated voters, so complacency or voter apathy are more dangerous than ever.
