Biggs seems to think his column is a call to the more centrist Republicans, as compared to his pal Marjorie Taylor Greene, e.g. He claimed that his goal is to “break the establishment.” But what he means is that he wants to MAGA-fy the House further: “We actually have the opportunity to dislodge the establishment and reinvigorate the America First movement that was founded by former President Donald Trump,” Biggs wrote. Yes, the same guy who just called for suspending the Constitution, shortly after hosting anti-Semite Kanye West and the even worse Nick Fuentes for dinner, is still Biggs’ idea of a patriot.

In fact, it wasn’t that long ago that Biggs wanted to make support for the January 6th insurrection a requirement to be a Republican. According to Stop the Steal organizer Ali Alexander, Biggs helped hatch the plan of putting “maximum pressure on Congress” to overturn the 2020 presidential election results.

Biggs didn’t mention his election denialism in his column. But he did display a warped sense of reality when he called on his party to “use all available tools to slow the Democrats’ race to Marxism.”

The Left has patiently and unrelentingly taken control of our institutions. Leadership of both parties have either wittingly or carelessly facilitated the takeover of our institutions.

And now, when pro-freedom, America First Republicans have a chance to effectuate change, even our own are fighting that. And you wonder why the establishment stays in power.

Oh, Andy, do you mean control of institutions like the Supreme Court, which, thanks to Mitch McConnell’s blocking of Merrick Garland’s nomination and Donald Trump’s lifetime appointments, just overturned women’s 50-year right to abortions? Is forcing women to give birth your idea of freedom? Banning books? Inciting violence against the LGBTQ+ community?

The good news is that Biggs will almost certainly not be speaker. He’s the only one who has actually declared himself a competitor to Kevin McCarthy but, as Joan McCarter explained, it is unlikely Biggs would get more than 40 or so votes out of the 218 needed to win. But Biggs and his House Freedom Caucus pals are just as determined to bar Kevin McCarthy from becoming House speaker as he is hellbent on getting the job.

Grab the popcorn, it’s going to be a helluva show.
