President Joe Biden made remarks regarding the war Hamas launched against Israel during a speech at the Human Rights Campaign national dinner in Washington, D.C. Biden did what former President Donald Trump was incapable of doing during his time in office. Trump never unified the American people. Instead, he divided us after tragedies such as Charlottesville or when natural disasters struck. With Biden, we have an empathetic President, which this country lacked when Trump was in office.

Biden spoke of rejecting hate. In contrast, Trump fomented violence.

"Like happened, what happened in Charlottesville," Biden told the crowd. "Just a little bit, and it comes roaring out again. Folks, we have to reject hate in every form."

"Because history has taught us again and again, anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, homophobia, transphobia, they're all connected," he continued. "Hate toward one group, left unanswered, opens the door for more hate toward more groups, more often, readily."

"But here's what we've successfully shown," the President said. "The antidote to hate is love. The answer to the truth of dehumanizing ideology is solidarity and standing up for everyone in humanity."

"This shouldn't be about conservative, liberal, red, or blue," he continued. "It should be about realizing the promise of the Declaration of Independence. But a promise rooted in the sacred and the secular that all people are created equal. Endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights, among them life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."

"Folks, it may sound corny, but we've never fully lived up to that promise, but we've never walked away from it like many want us to do," he said. "And we're not going to walk away from it on my watch, I promise you."

"And all of you here tonight, and all the advocates and allies across the country, I see the light that's going to triumph over the darkness," he continued. "I see the hope that's going to conquer fear. I see the love that's going to overcome hate in all its forms. I see a great nation because we're basically a good people."

"We just remember who we are, and we're not the victim," Biden said. "And although we're good folks, we've got to stand up and holler. We've got to stand up and holler."

"You cannot be silent," he said. "Silence is complicity. Silence is complicity."

"Folks, we're the United States of America, and there's nothing beyond our capacity when we do it together," he added. "Nothing, nothing, nothing. So let's stand together and get everyone else on the deal."

Biden got a standing ovation with people in the audience yelling, "Four more years!"

Indeed. Biden has earned four more years.
