There was yet another GOP debate Wednesday night on the little-known so-called neutral network NewsNation, moderated by Megyn Kelly, Elizabeth Vargas, and Washington Free Beacon editor-in-chief Eliana Johnson. I didn't watch it, because why spend time watching four people who are not going to be the Republican nominee spew Republican talking points?

I will admit, however, that I was horrified to see them invite Tom Fitton to ask questions. Who's next? Ginni Thomas? Steve Bannon?

But I digress. Governor Tim Walz did an interview for CNN Thursday morning that summed everything up nicely.

CNN's John Berman quoted Walz saying the GOP primary candidates are "weird." Specifically, he said, "There's no such thing as a generic Republican. These guys are weird. Once they start running, their weirdness shows up."

"What did you mean by that?" Berman asked.

Walz' answer was perfect.

"Yes, I'll stand by that," he replied. "Well look, just the strange things they become obsessed with, demonizing our children, becoming obsessed with people's personal lives in their bedrooms, restricting freedoms."

He continued, "I'm surrounded by states who are spending their time figuring out how to ban Charlotte's Web in their schools, while we're banishing hunger from ours with free breakfast and lunch."

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the primary difference between all of these number two clowns on the debate stage and Democrats writ large. Feeding kids instead of demonizing them seems like Politics 101, but Republicans aren't interested in governing as much as fighting culture wars to distract people from noticing that billionaires are sucking up all of their wealth and looking for more.

Other debate "highlights" include Chris Christie calling Vivek Ramaswamy the "most obnoxious blowhard in America." No, he really said that.

Here is the aforementioned weirdo Ramaswamy embracing literally every single conspiracy theory the QNuts applaud. He even got Nick Fuentes' attention with the replacement theory crap.

At one point Ramaswamy did this, proving he really is a misogynistic weirdo:

As if he couldn't have just held up a sign saying "All of us are corrupt."

So yes, Governor Walz is absolutely right. They're a bunch of weirdos talking about weird things that aren't relevant to our lives or our health or our well-being, because they don't care about those things.

Now I hear there are two more debates coming on CNN. The threshold will be raised for poll numbers to 10 percent, so it's likely that Chris Christie and Vivek Ramaswamy will be bumped, leaving DeSantis and Haley to duke it out. And again, neither of them will be the Republican nominee.

They're just a bunch of weirdos.
