Elon Musk has publicly expressed his belief that Jews are not white.
In response to a Xitter poll asking if Jews are white, Musk seemed enthusiastic to let the public know he doesn’t think so. He even offered up scientific-sounding mumbo jumbo to back up his antisemitism. “I’ve met so many people who look extremely European in every way and tell me they’re Jewish,” he said in his three-paragraph response. “Well, maybe there are a few OG ‘Jewish ACTG’ sequences in there somewhere, but clearly not many! Where is the list of these ACTG sequences?”
That sounds frighteningly close to Nazis demanding that Jews wear armbands or badges so that they could be identified - and isolated, harassed and humiliated. Will Musk start demanding a new, range of ethnicity choices so that Jews no longer check “white?”
We have long known that Musk, a South African immigrant who entered this country illegally, has overt Nazi affinities. Yet Donald Trump effectively made the billionaire co-president and granted him access to our most important and sensitive data and institutions.
Now, Musk is reportedly spending more than $100 million to boost a slew of Republican candidates in the midterms. Why isn’t the media asking them to explain or disavow association with Musk the way it is with Democrats and Hasan Piker?
I am not here to defend Piker. But I think we can safely predict he will never have anything close to the level of influence and sway as Musk. I am also pretty sure he has never given a Nazi salute at a rally.
It’s long past time for Republicans to be held accountable for their association with the vile, wannabe-king Musk.
