A massive and humiliating gold statue of US President Donald Trump has gone on display inside a European Parliament building, and one of Europe's lawmakers is daring Donnie to cry about it.
The statue in question here, titled "Orange Plague" and also known as "King of Injustice," is 8.5 feet tall and depicts a nude Donald Trump holding the scales of justice and a golf club that's topped with a golf ball made to look like the Earth. Trump sits atop the shoulders of a much smaller, clothed man who is holding him up.
The statue's plinth reads, "I am sitting on the back of a man. He is sinking under my burden. I will do anything to help him. Except stepping down from his back."
If that doesn't perfectly sum up Donald Trump, I truly don't know what does.
The humiliatingly accurate art piece sits at one of the busiest intersections between two parliament buildings in Strasbourg, France, and is slated to remain on display there through Thursday.
The piece was created by Danish artist Jens Galschiot, who covered the statue in 23-carat gold leaf, and has stated that it was inspired by "The Emperor's New Clothes," a fairy tale about a vain ruler whose subjects are so fearful of him, they're too afraid to tell him that he's naked.
Galschiot has stated:
Trump represents one of the greatest threats to the rules-based world order, democratic values and our common effort to solving the climate crisis. We must address this issue and stand together against such destructive influence.
The artist was invited to display the brutal statue in France by left-wing Danish member of the European Parliament, Per Clausen, who taunted the US president over the brutally humiliating statue and all but dared him to whine about it: "If someone is so thin-skinned that they cannot tolerate this sculpture being exhibited in the European Parliament, then they have no place on the world stage."

The statue has already made its way around, appearing at last year's COP30 climate summit in Brazil and this year's Munich Security Conference. Visitors get free miniature versions of the art piece, and Galschiot has made free files available online that let people 3-D print their own.
As it stands, the Trump White House has yet to respond to the statue, but it's certainly undeniable that this is not the sort of golden shrine Donald Trump desires of himself.
Earlier this year, a 15-foot statue of the president (wearing clothes), titled "Don Colossus," was unveiled at his Miami golf course. It depicts the president with his fist raised in the air. The US president has further confirmed that he plans to install two gigantic gold statues of himself in his presidential library.
