The Charlatans - renewing faith in music all over the place.

With Festival season in the home stretch this month it occurred to me that if I played all the concerts from all the festivals I've been recording so far this year and just kept them for the weekends I don't think I would ever catch up.

So, I'm going to run as many "mini concerts" as I can until things calm down. Most of the radio outlets in Europe have been running festivals back to back and complete. But a lot are running extended excerpts (even they're having trouble keeping up) which consist of 2-4 songs from a complete set.

And that's where tonight's Roundtable comes from. My perennial favorites The Charlatans, playing this past weekend at the Electric Picnic Festival in Ireland. Three tracks from a set they performed on Sunday:

The Charlatans live at The Electric Picnic:
'One To Another'
'The Only One I Know'
'Oh Vanity'

One of the great bands, still performing and touring. As always, fresh and interesting. I can't get enough of these guys. If you aren't familiar, you really need to do yourself a favor and check them out. They've been at it since the late 80's and have no intention of slowing down. So there's no excuse not to load up on their albums and see them when they play somewhere near you. Trust me on this one.
