Here's Mitt Romney as he presents himself behind closed doors, and if you were one of the ones who thought Barack Obama's "clinging to God and guns" remark was terrible, you ought to really listen to how Mitt views those of us he seeks to govern.

These videos have been authenticated by the Huffington Post and Mother Jones. They were uploaded to YouTube by an anonymous witness who recorded a closed-door fundraiser.

In the snippet at the top, Romney says Obama supporters are lazy freeloaders who contribute nothing and expect the government to take care of them. I can almost imagine the sneer, can't you?

During a private fundraiser earlier this year, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney told a small group of wealthy contributors what he truly thinks of all the voters who support President Barack Obama. He dismissed these Americans as freeloaders who pay no taxes, who don't assume responsibility for their lives, and who think government should take care of them. Fielding a question from a donor about how he could triumph in November, Romney replied:

There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what…These are people who pay no income tax.

Please do take note of what Willard thinks of "entitlements." Because this is what wealthy people think about people who actually do pay more of their income as a percentage into taxes -- sales taxes, payroll taxes, and other taxes they have to pay to live and get by.

But there is more, much more. Mittens bragging about using Netanyahu's campaign advisors, Mittens telling donors the capital markets will for sure pick up after he's elected.

Here's the part about the Netanyahu advisors, or as he calls them, "Karl Rove equivalents":

I have a very good team of extraordinarily experienced, highly successful consultants, a couple of people in particular who have done races around the world. I didn't realize it. These guys in the US—the Karl Rove equivalents—they do races all over the world: in Armenia, in Africa, in Israel. I mean, they work for Bibi Netanyahu in his race. So they do these races and they see which ads work, and which processes work best, and we have ideas about what we do over the course of the campaign. I'd tell them to you, but I'd have to shoot you.

Gosh, Mitt. The Google is your friend, too. Arthur Finkelstein is surely one of your advisors and he's a real peach. From Jesse Helms' racially-charged campaign to Reagan to Orrin Hatch, what Finkelstein specializes in is a form of thought manipulation.

According to Mother Jones, there is more to come. Here's another tidbit that tastes pretty bitter:

Romney told the contributors that "women are open to supporting me," but that "we are having a much harder time with Hispanic voters, and if the Hispanic voting bloc becomes as committed to the Democrats as the African American voting block has in the past, why, we're in trouble as a party and, I think, as a nation." When one attendee asked how this group could help Romney sell himself to others, he answered, "Frankly, what I need you to do is to raise millions of dollars." He added, "The fact that I'm either tied or close to the president…that's very interesting."

No racially charged code words there, right?

This is the Real Romney. Right here. When he says publicly that he doesn't care about poor people, you now know he means that privately, and he also has no respect for them as people. This is the attitude of a man who was born with money, raised with money, and steeped in privilege. Of course he doesn't care about poor people. Why should he bother with them, when they don't have millions to elect him?

Update John Aravosis argues that this isn't just about poor people but all Democrats, sans independents. I agree with him on that, though Romney's singling out of people who don't pay income taxes does suggest he was aiming at the less fortunate. However, that doesn't change the fact that Romney basically said all Democrats are irresponsible lazy, unchanging bloodsuckers who view themselves as victims and are entitled to things.

Romney was suggesting that all Democrats are poor, minority, don't have a job, and don't want one. It was racist, bigoted, and insulting to probably ten different groups of Americans in twenty different ways. It's bad enough that he thinks minorities are lazy slobs, but to then suggest that the Democratic party is made up 100% of lazy slobs. It's unbelievably contemptuous.

Yes. As I said earlier, screw you, Willard.

Update 2: Greg Sargent weighs in, especially on Romney's contention that he can't worry about those voters, because they will never change into responsible people.

In Romney’s telling, all of these 47 percent of voters are complicit in this arrangement. As a result, there is no hope of ever persuading them to take personal responsibility for their lives. He seems to be conflating the government-dependency conspiracy theory with another right wing meme — the complaint that only 47 percent of Americans pay income taxes. Put those together and you arrive at Romney’s formulation.

When I first saw this video start to swarm on Twitter I wondered aloud how seniors would think about that. You know, the seniors who walk around with signs saying "get your hands off my Medicare." Aren't they part of the group who thinks they are entitled to health care? Lots of them are Republican voters. Does Willard "not care" about them?
