I remember this great song from the 70's that I loved dancing to when I was a kid. It faded away for a while and I could never remember the name of it but I always used to hum it, or at least what I remembered it to be (usually in the shower since I try not to punish too many people with my lack of musical talent). Then several years back, a commercial came out starring what had to be the hippest, happeningest office delivery guy ever and it brought the tune rushing back for a while.

I recently got a chance to be behind the scenes watching a cool executive producer run a huge show. He was having a great time. As the build-up grew to introduce the key speaker, he cranked this song up, danced his own little two step and orchestrated the entrance of that night's star, Al Gore. (Like me, he is a big fan of the man)

The Spinners--Rubberband Man

It was a fun moment and it made me realize the sheer star power Al has. Now with him coordinating and hosting the greatest summer concert series since Live Aid, something tells me his popular status will only continue to grow. Talk about the Rubberband Man. What a change from how the world used to perceive him. Now I just have to figure out which of these awesome concerts I'm going to.
