Roughly a week before the Georgia runoff election for the Senate, Senator Lindsey Graham appeared on Fox News at the Russell building on November 30, making his usual fundraising appeals for Republican nominee Herschel Walker.

Roll Call reports that the Senate Ethics Committee became involved.

“The Committee further concluded that during your discussion of the senatorial run-off election, you directly solicited campaign contributions on behalf of Mr. Walker’s campaign committee, www.teamherschel.com, five separate times,” Ethics Chairman Chris Coons of Delaware and James Lankford of Oklahoma, the committee’s top Republican, wrote in a letter of admonition to Graham."

Graham was on Fox News pimping out Walker so many times it was ridiculous. Hannity used his program as an election central for Republicans.

I'm actually surprised the Senate Ethics Committee got involved.

“The public must feel confident that Members use public resources only for official actions in the best interests of the United States, not for partisan political activity. Your actions failed to uphold that standard, resulting in harm to the public trust and confidence in the United States Senate,” the Ethics leaders wrote. “You are hereby admonished.”

Graham responded by saying it was "a mistake" and he hopes to do better in the future.

That's a lie.

Sen. Graham knew exactly what he was doing. The Republican Party was a sinking ship in the midterm elections thanks to the daft Senate candidates supported by Trump.

Graham was trying to plug the leaky GOP, by acting like an idiot, defending Walker's lunacy as a candidate.

Roll Call said, "The Senate Ethics Committee issuing such a letter, along with a formal admonishment, is extraordinarily rare."

Senators used to stay above the fold from off-the-wall House members.

That is no longer the case.
