Republicans are out in force shaking their heads and denying vociferously that the Benghazi Select Committee is about destroying Hillary Clinton, right?
Well, today was the day key Clinton aide Huma Abedin was scheduled to testify. You'd think it would have been a big, big day in Washington, DC.
Not so much.
That's right, the chairman of said committee couldn't be bothered to show up for this Very Important Hearing On A Very Important Topic.
Rep. Trey Gowdy, the committee's chairman, was not at the deposition an hour after it began, and Rep. Elijah Cummings, the ranking Democrat, didn't arrive until nearly an hour after it was scheduled. The House was on recess this week, which likely explained the lower-than-usual attendance.
Rep. Lynn Westmoreland, R-Ga., attended the interview Friday morning at the Capitol Visitors Center. Westmoreland is a candidate for speaker of the House.
That ad at the top is quite accurate when it comes to what the true motives for this idiotic witch hunt committee truly are.
