The first noise heard on record from Deerhoof were just that. Noises. Formed in 1994, the band made improvised post-rock static and clatter to often baffled audiences. As the band carried something downright pop seeped into their sound. Granted, the pop was probably pretty mangled by the time it reached the band's musical lobe and they have twisted it just a bit more...but pop none the less.

Their latest, Mountain Moves, is the 14th full-length album for them. On the one we're hearing tonight. "I Will Spite Survive", they brought the Wye Oak's Jenn Wasner to assist in making the noise and melodies.

What are you listening to tonight?
