Over the weekend, President Donald Trump uncorked one of his worst social media meltdowns to date, chock-full of AI-generated garbage, spewing some of his most insane ideas to date, including ownership of the moon, promotion of his Space Force idea, complete with uniform mock-ups, and repeated suggestions to change the name of the state of New Mexico to New America.

But tucked among the evidence of Donald Trump's unstable psyche was one particular post that was so deeply "inappropriate" it managed to induce an international incident that included the immediate summoning of a US ambassador.

According to a bombshell new report from Reuters, citing a report from Iceland’s national public service broadcaster, Ríkisútvarpið (RÚV), Iceland’s foreign minister, Thorgerdur Gunnarsdottir, felt it necessary to summon US Ambassador to Iceland Billy Long after catching wind of one of the US president's posts that depicted the entirety of North America as United States territory, including the countries of Cuba, Mexico, Canada, Greenland, and Iceland.

"The position was clearly expressed that the post was completely inappropriate," Gunnarsdottir reportedly told RÚV.

It remains unclear whether or not Trump actually intended to include Iceland in his inappropriately doctored map of North America, or if he's once again confused Iceland with Greenland -- a distinction that one would expect a sitting US president to be aware of. Still, we've all certainly had to learn to manage our expectations when it comes to the anomaly that is Donald Trump.

Throughout his second term, Trump has repeatedly expressed his desire to acquire Greenland as United States territory and has recently begun to "joke" about absorbing Canada. Back in January, while speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Trump appeared to confuse Iceland and Greenland when he told the crowd that NATO "loved" him until he "told them about Iceland," claiming that all he was "asking for is a piece of ice."
