Time to commence the battle of city slicker versus rural Texan at the North Charleston Fox Business Network debate. Money Honey, Maria Bartiromo, lit the fireworks with this question for Senator Ted Cruz.

BARTIROMO: Mr Trump "embodies New York values." Can you explain what you mean by that?

CRUZ:You know I think most people know what NY values are.

BARTIROMO I'm from New York.

CRUZ: You're from New York so you might not. (loud cheering/booing and laughter) But I promise you in the state of South Carolina, they do.

Cruz pandered to the many, many wonderful working people (not unemployed of course) in New York. Cruz mentioned that Trump has been playing Born in the USA at his rallies lately, I imagine without Springsteen's permission. Cruz thought it better if he'd play New York, New York. He went on about the difference between Iowa values and New York values.

The concept of NY values is not that complicated to figure out

He believes that Trump himself mentioned that NY values are vastly disparate to the rest of the country, especially Iowa. Cruz mentions an interview Trump did years ago with the late Tim Russert. Trump was rather different than he pretends to be today. He was leaving the GOP, back then in 1999.

Of course, we all know that what was said in the past doesn't matter to Republicans. So that was dismissed. He kept digging his hole, insinuating that real conservatives come only from smaller cities, definitely not the urban jungle of New York.

CRUZ: Not a lot of conservatives come out of Manhattan. (Big cheer/boo) I'm just saying

BARTIROMO: Are you sure about that?

TRUMP:Conservatives actually do come out of Manhattan, including William F. Buckley and others just so you understand.

Trump went into his best heartfelt tribute to those who worked tirelessly following the 9/11 attacks. He mentioned how the people in NY dealt with so much death, smell and bad air. He also mentioned that this was worse than anything he's seen, and he's been on his own construction sites, and he's seen his own gauche buildings. Funny he'd compare the scene at Ground Zero with one of his own sites.

TRUMP: Everyone in the world loved New York and loved New Yorkers and I have to tell you, that was a very insulting statement that Ted made.

Bam! Trump with the TKO. Cruz looked foolish with his assertion. However, they all look ridiculous when they espouse the flat tax, Islamophobia, more war and pretty much everything they claim to be true. What a difference from the sensibility of the Democratic field. Thank gawd!
