Rep. Jimmy Gomez Will Introduce Resolution To Expel Marjorie Taylor Greene
Thank goodness Rep. Jimmy Gomez will take steps to expel Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a member of Congress not even the Founding Fathers could probably have imagined so deserving.

Greene probably belongs in jail more than in the House of Representatives. Recently, a trove of old Facebook posts revealed how she longed to see numerous leading Democrats executed. A CNN KFile investigation found these, for example:
In one post, from January 2019, Greene liked a comment that said "a bullet to the head would be quicker" to remove House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. In other posts, Greene liked comments about executing FBI agents who, in her eyes, were part of the "deep state" working against Trump.
…
In another Facebook Live broadcast from inside Pelosi's office on February 22, 2019, Greene suggested the House speaker will "suffer death or she'll be in prison" for her "treason." Notably, Greene never mentions a trial. In another broadcast from later that day, she suggested California Rep. Maxine Waters was "just as guilty of treason as Nancy Pelosi."
KFile also found that she liked a comment that called for a “Civil war 2.0.”
Now that she has been elected to Congress, some of the same people Greene thinks should be killed are her colleagues.
And while it may not be a criminal act, her harassment of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting survivor David Hogg, weeks after the horrific event, is arguably worse. As my colleague Frances Langum wrote, “In the video that she published to Facebook, she follows Hogg on the Capitol grounds, shouting ‘questions’ about the Second Amendment and why is Hogg using kids to make his arguments?”
.@mtgreenee, is this you harassing @davidhogg111 weeks after the Parkland shooting, that my daughter was killed in & he was in? Calling him a coward for ignoring your insanity. I will answer all of your questions in person. Get ready to record again.pic.twitter.com/aQjL74x7kh

And that’s not counting Greene’s embrace of QAnon, her claim that 9/11 was an inside job and that the Stoneman Douglas shooting was staged.
But wait, there’s more. In his January 27 press release, Gomez cited these as further reasons for Greene’s expulsion:
In September of 2020, Congresswoman Greene posted a meme of her with a gun pointed towards progressive members of Congress. And in June of 2020, Politico unearthed past clips of Congresswoman Greene espousing racist, Islamophobic and anti-Semitic attitudes, saying in one video that Muslims should be barred from serving in government.
Sadly, Gomez faces an uphill battle. Expulsion requires a two-thirds vote. Although House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy says he plans to have “a conversation” with Greene about her “deeply disturbing” comments, she just joined the House Education and Labor Committee and the House Budget Committee.
