Barry Bennett, Ben Carson's former campaign manager told CNN that Mitt Romney's speech was designed by the GOP establishment to help steal the vote from the will of the people.

Bennett: What it was, was a call to arms to the establishment that we need to do everything we can to subvert the will of the voters and steal the nomination at the convention, plain and simple.

Berman: Steal the nomination?

Bennett: Absolutely, that's exactly what they're trying to do. They are not going to be successful at it. It's a pathetic attempt, but I mean, it's disgusting...

Co-host, Bolduan made the case that if Rubio wins Florida and Kasich wins Ohio, then a brokered convention isn't out of the question, but Bennett poo-pooed that idea.

Bennett: Donald Trump is going to have the majority of the delegates, but that's still not going to stop them from trying to steal it, mark my words.

Bennett is voicing what probably most republican voters feel at this point. Conservative voters will view Romney's speech with mild interest, but utter contempt. He's no favorite of the hard core right and his speech backs up the idea that the GOP doesn't care about what the voters want from the party. They are only interested in maintaining their control and power over the GOP and the electorate.
